What can you play in Minecraft that's challenging?

You most probably have heard about the hit game “Minecraft”. This famous sandbox game was created in the November of 2011, by a man in Sweden named “Notch”. Since its release, it has been growing rapidly, due to its successful reach towards the target demographic, being pre-teens from 10-13-year-olds.

But with Minecraft’s old demographic growing out of the creative sandbox gameplay. And with multiple statements that Minecraft is a game without any “real challenge”. I’m here to show you the reasons, and ways that Minecraft can be played as a real competitive game.

As you know. Minecraft can be played in your own single-player world, where you can play in different modes such as survival, and creative mode. And not to mention that you can invite your friends to play in your world. But what happens when you and your friends get tired of the seemingly endless sandbox world? Well, this brings me to my first point of competitive Minecraft. Minecraft servers. 

Minecraft servers are full of many different games and minigames, where you can play with many different Minecraft players from around the world. Whilst there are thousands of Minecraft servers and ip's out there. We can't talk about Minecraft servers without mentioning the server that almost everyone In the Minecraft community recognizes. The Hypixel server. 

The Hypixel server is the single most popular and populous server with its vast arsenal of iconic games. Games and minigames for all the competitive players and casual players alike. With such games like the walls, arena brawl, TNT run, skywars, and the hot new game competitive Minecraft players can enjoy.

Bedwars was released in early 2017 and is a team-based PVP(Player vs Player) game mode. Ever since it was released, high concentrations of competitive players started playing this new game. But one person that helped bedwars' popularity, and cemented himself as the best bedwars player and the best Minecraft PVP player in general.

Technoblade is the holder of the highest bedwars win-streak at a solid 1,818 wins in a row. And help bring many new players to try bedwars. He was the first to receive his own personal rank in hypixel by the creator of the server himself and receiving the "Pig" rank.

But if PVP is not your cup of tea, then what else should you do in Minecraft?

Minecraft speedruns started in update 1.0, the update of when they added the ender dragon.  You can attempt a speedrun anytime in your own generated world. Many speedrunners have attempted to try to break the world record. And most speedrun world records didn't stay too long by one person for a while. Until the infamous Minecraft speedrunner, illuma started getting recognized for having the record many times. 

but speedrunning would not be in the spotlight towards the broad Minecraft fanbase. And the time came when Dream, the famous Minecraft Youtuber attempted to hold the Minecraft 'random seed' speedrun world record. though most of his attempts would not be the record-breaker. The Minecraft community loved dream and his gameplay while attempting speedrun challenges. And on June 11, 2020, he held a world record. So if you want a Minecraft challenge to test your speed and skill, give speedrun challenges a try.

For these reasons, and with the combination of many different playable games in the hypixel server, the multiple challenging speedrun records you can try to break, and all of the many Competitive events and groups you can join.
